This is a short-term group (10 sessions) crafted to provide support, education, and encouragement to first time moms with their babies. Our program uses an interdisciplinary and collaborative approach with our staff Psychotherapist, Lactation Consultant, Dietician, and Pediatricians. Each of whom is focusing on different challenges that new moms are faced with and often have questions or concerns about. This program is a must for new moms or even experienced moms with newborns who could use a little connection and support!

Topics to include:

  • Sleep
  • Feeding and care (mother and baby)
  • Bonding and attachment
  • Identity and self-care
  • Navigating changing relationships

Registration:

To secure your spot in our next series, email psychiatry@potomacpediatrics.com and include the name and date of birth of your newborn. All parents will be asked to complete a screening questionnaire and will have a short preliminary call with Jess Silbermann, LCSW-C. For groups to be most effective for all participants it is essential that we do a preliminary screening prior to enrolling a parent.

Please note, this program is exclusive to current patients of Potomac Pediatrics.

Billing: This program is billed to your insurance under your mental health benefits. Copay’s, deductibles, and co-insurance may apply. Prior to committing to the series, a team member will verify your benefits and review them with you.
